We’re here for you outside of school hours as well! We’re open 7 days/week, including after-hours (8am–9pm Monday-Sunday). We’re open all holidays and weekends.

Our pediatricians provide expert medical care for children of all ages up to age 21.

Affordable
Most visits will be little to no cost. We accept Tricare plans and Texas Medicaid plans, as well as commercial insurance plans. We also have a self-pay option available.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is there a cost to use this service?
The visit will be automatically billed to your child’s insurance company with no action needed by the parent or guardian.
TRICARE Prime members typically pay $0 for use of this service and other TRICARE members pay an affordable fee per visit. Virtual Care for Families is a TRICARE authorized provider and in-network with all TRICARE plans.
All Texas Medicaid plans are accepted and most visits for Medicaid covered patients will cost $0.
VCFF is in-network with most major plans (BCBS, UHC, Cigna, Aetna, Humana, etc) and a telemedicine visit for your child typically costs the same as a normal trip to your child’s pediatrician office.
Virtual Care for Families will offer charity care for children who are without insurance and who are enrolled in the Free and Reduced Meal Program. All other students without health insurance will be offered a cash pay discount rate of $50 per visit.
Will this service be paid for by the school district?
No. Virtual Care for Families is offering this service at no cost to the district. All services, training, and supplies were provided to the schools by Virtual Care for Families for $0. Our team is happy to be of service to your community and we look forward to caring for your child.
Can my child have their monthly prescriptions filled with Virtual Care for Families?
Prescriptions for ongoing or chronic conditions such as diabetes management, behavioral health management, or asthma management should be obtained by your child’s primary care physician.
What if my child needs a higher level of care?
If deemed necessary, your child can be referred to a specialist, emergency room, or primary care physician for continued care. Virtual Care Providers are trained to assess the child’s condition quickly and will triage them to the appropriate level of care as needed.
Can my other children be treated by Virtual Care for Families if they aren’t enrolled in the district?
This service is open to district students and their friends and family. Virtual Care for Families is available to all ages and can be accessed from home on any smartphone, tablet, or computer. However, to have your child treated in school, you must register your child in advance via the registration forms above. Visit www.virtualcarefamilies.com for more information.
Can my child be seen by Virtual Care for Families in the evenings or on weekends?
Yes! Virtual Care for Families is open every day (including weekends) from 8am–9pm. Your child can receive care through your smartphone or computer within minutes from wherever you are. To request an on-demand visit, click on the “Start a virtual visit now!” option at www.virtualcarefamilies.com.
